We are writing to inform you that this week is ‘Arts Week’ at school, you may have seen this noted on the summer diary. This year we have adopted a similar theme to last year entitled, ‘Treasure Seekers’. The children will be exploring ideas linked to adventure through story, poetry, drama, movement, music and art. The children will have a range of opportunities to create their own pieces of work through exploring the many imaginative and unrestricted avenues that the arts have to offer. We are excited about having a creative and fun week that enables the children to produce wonderful work! This year we are creating an art installation thus giving the children the opportunity to work with 3D creations and combining these in a whole school piece of work – an island installation in the playground shelter. We are having a Mufti Day on this Friday, 16th June and the children can come in dressed as anything linked to arts week such as a pirate, adventurer, ‘Wild Thing’ (the children will know!) or even as a famous artist. Please see the PTA newsletter regarding donations.
Thank you for all your support as we look forward to a stimulating and fun week for the children.
